The Story Behind Our Fortnum & Mason Launch: Snacks As Real As Our Kids

We have some incredibly exciting news to share... 

We can officially announce that The Tuck Company has been named a winner of the 2026 Fortnum & Makers Open Call!

Out of more than 450 incredible independent food and drink brands from all across the UK, our snack brand was chosen as one of just 15 winners. This means that from Monday 29th June, our nutritious oat bars will be hitting the legendary shelves at Fortnum & Mason’s iconic Piccadilly flagship store in London.

To go from an idea born out of pure frustration to being recognised by a British institution like Fortnum & Mason, a name synonymous with culinary excellence since 1707 is more than a dream come true.

How It All Began: A Mum, A Nutritionist and A Mission

The Tuck Company didn't start in a boardroom. It started when I was looking at the snack options available post toddler stage and realised that what was on offer simply wasn’t good enough.

So many "healthy" kids snacks are packed with hidden additives, preservatives and sugars. I wanted real food for my kids, but a lot of the options were a minefield of ultra-processed ingredients. 

I decided to try and fix it, for my own kids and for everyone else's kids. I reached out to a Nutritionist I had followed for year with a brief: We need to create a snack that is entirely free from additives, preservatives and ultra-processed junk, but still tastes amazing to a child.

I didn't even know if we could achieve it, we built our recipes from scratch, combining nutritional science with  real, whole ingredients.

Putting Real Food Back on the Shelves

This year, Fortnum’s was looking for makers who focus on exceptional craft and mind-blowing flavour, but with products designed to support a more balanced way of living. Liz Morgan, the Director of Buying for Food at Fortnum & Mason, noted that the winners bring "a fresh perspective on how we eat and live today".

Our mission is simple: Kids' snacks should be made of real food.

Our nutritionist developed bars are UPF Free (Ultra Processed Food Free). We don't use chemical shortcuts or weird powders. Just honest, premium ingredients that parents can trust and kids love to eat.

Deliciously Safe: 100% Nut, Gluten & Dairy Free

While we are so proud of the real food that goes into our bars, we knew that to go into schools and clubs they needed to be nut free. 

When you’re managing school lunchboxes, playground rules, or severe allergies, finding a clean snack can feel impossible. That’s why we made a decision from day one to ensure our snacks were available to everyone.

Our full range of delicious oat bars, including Lemon & Blueberry, Apple & Cinnamon, and Carrot & Raisin will be live in store at Fortnum & Mason Piccadilly from Monday 29th June.

We will also be hosting some exciting live sampling events at Fortnum's beautiful Food & Drink Studio, so you can come by, meet us and taste our snacks for yourself!
